Our 2nd Independence
Every year on July 4th, the United States celebrates independence.
Independence from monarchy.
Independence from authoritarianism and concentrated and consolidated power.
Independence from rule by a distant authority that did not listen to the people.
It was a declaration that political power should not live in the hands of the few.
It should live with the many.
But independence is not something that happens once in history.
Independence is a responsibility that must be renewed by every generation.
And today, another declaration is waiting to be made.
A second independence for the United States of America.
Not from a king across an ocean —
but from party controlled politics and systems of thought that limit, divide, and overpower the public voice.
Today the challenge is not the authoritarianism of monarchy but the authoritarianism of party-controlled politics.
When political identity becomes more important than shared problem solving, the system drifts away from democratic republicanism.
When loyalty to party narratives becomes stronger than loyalty to voters, the public voice weakens.
President George Washington and many others throughout history have long warned that rigid factions can harden, divide communities, and make cooperation harder.
And that is exactly what many people feel.
Division.
Frustration.
Exhaustion. Corruption. Violence.
The promise of a democratic republic is simple: public decisions should reflect the real Will of the People.
Anything that consistently blocks, filters, or distorts that will needs to evolve.
Declaring a Second Independence means choosing to think freely.
It means stepping outside prefabricated narratives.
It means refusing to outsource moral reasoning to immensely corrupt and violent political institutions that we are forced to call political parties.
The Second Independence of the U.S. looks like voters standing in their own light. Standing in their own energy.
Using their own judgment.
Applying their own values to every issue.
It means turning down the volume of conflict and turning up the volume of collaboration.
Because what are people actually hungry to talk about?
Love.
Kindness.
Community.
Empathy.
Compassion.
Courage.
Wisdom.
Justice.
Humor.
Joy. Creativity. Support. Service. Knowledge. Expertise. Social, political, and economic evolution.
There is so much beauty available in public life. There is so much beauty in our country to support, nurture, enhance, promote, and embrace.
Yet it is often buried under anger, political theatre, and endless argument.
Imagine a civic culture where energy is spent not on defeating one another, but on understanding one another.
Where discussion creates clarity instead of enemies.
Where participation feels constructive, not corrosive.
That is the spirit of independence.
The first Independence Day separated a nation from a monarchy.
The second Independence Day separates citizens from habits of thinking that keep power distant from the people. The Second Independence Day leads to the Independent Online Political Evolution on Voter Directed Network where voters will be empowered to make all political decisions with real Yes/No political power on all issues.
Our second Independence is quieter.
It is personal.
It happens inside each voter.
And when enough people make that decision, the system changes.
Not through force.
Through participation.
Through transparency.
Through millions of people calmly and confidently saying:
The real Will of the People matters.
And it deserves to be heard clearly and implemented relentlessly.
